What is a Traineeship?
A traineeship is a training agreement between the trainee and their respective employer, whereby the employer agrees to train the trainee in a specific industry, and the trainee agrees to work and learn.
It’s a structured training program similar to an apprenticeship that offers a valuable alternative for employers looking to employ someone to learn on the job in a structured way. It provides individuals with an opportunity to gain practical experience at work while receiving on or off-the-job training. There are over 400 traineeships currently available in WA for businesses that wish to train or upskill their new or existing workforce.
Traineeships are available for people of all ages and usually last between 9-48 months, depending on the vocation and certificate level undertaken.
