Apprenticeship Community Clients Recognised in State-Wide Training Awards

The Apprenticeship Community would like to congratulate JSW Australia and Civmec who have been selected as finalists in the 2016 WA Training Awards.

The Awards are presented annually by the WA Government (Department of Training and Workforce Development), showcasing organisations that contribute to vocational education and training in WA. JSW and Civmec have both been nominated in the Employer of the Year category, which recognises an enterprise that has achieved excellence in the provision of nationally recognised training to its employees.

JSW is a WA-based drilling company and Western Australia’s only enterprise Registered Training Organisation (RTO) for the drilling industry. JSW’s workforce is 33% Aboriginal and the organisation hass designed and implemented structured career paths for sustainable futures for Aborigines working on traditional lands in the Pilbara. Through training, JSW’s staff retention has increased dramatically, bringing stability to an otherwise transient industry. JSW was also a finalist in the 2015 WA Training Awards, in the Training Initiative category. Civmec is a company specialising in the oil and gas, metals and minerals, infrastructure and defence markets. As an RTO, they continually invest in their own people and believe that their training programs enable their staff to reach their full potential. Civmec facilitates a series of internal development programs and certifications that are designed to expose employees to industry and company-wide best practice, increase productivity and efficiency and build a strong safety commitment and culture.

As clients of The Apprenticeship Community, JSW Australia and Civmec utilise our team of experts to manage the entire apprenticeship/trainee process, including the completion of all their apprenticeship/traineeship sign-ups throughout WA. We also assist by providing advice on training needs and opportunities for their businesses and staff members.

We would like to wish both JSW and Civmec the best of luck in the 2016 WA Training Awards, which will be presented on Friday 23rd of September at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
