The Apprenticeship Community partners with Inspirations Mullewa

Creating opportunities for long-term unemployed people in Mullewa is the aim of a program run in conjunction with Inspirations Mullewa, a hotel east of Geraldton that is owned and operated by Meedac Inc, and includes a training facility for students to learn the skill sets of the hospitality industry. Job seekers have participated in full time training completing a Certificate II in Hospitality.

Local job seekers attended the training with most of the participants completing the whole qualification, with two participants were successful in securing traineeships at Inspirations at a Certificate III Level. Students benefitted from the ‘real life’ training environment which enabled them to train for events such as weddings and corporate functions, as well as employability skills such as punctuality, workplace communication and teamwork.

Site Manager for Inspirations, Anthony Lindner, praised The Apprenticeship Community staff for guiding the trainees through the course.

“Rhonda Richardson has been involved as a trainer and mentor for the trainees and she has demonstrated patience and respectful guidance when interacting with them.”

Anthony says the trainees Karla and Donna have grown exponentially. He says they’re now more confident, have a greater understanding of the customers and take initiative in the workplace.
